“I’ll Have What She’s Having!”
Yes, it’s one of the classic scenes of movie history. It’s the scene in When Harry Met Sally where Meg Ryan, sitting in a restaurant with Billy Crystal’s character, fakes an orgasm.
An onlooking female restaurant patron, seeing the state of ecstasy that Meg Ryan is in, and oblivious to the situation, blurts out to the waiter, “I’ll have what she’s having!”
It is a classic scene, one which will go down in the annals of Hollywood as a comedic tour-de-force.
But there is one simple though critically important business lesson which comes out of this. When people see a “satisfied” (pardon the pun) customer or client, they too are attracted to whatever it is which has caused the satisfaction, be it writing, marketing, advertising, products, services or what have you! Success and satisfaction attract like magnets!
Think of Meg Ryan’s character as having given a glowing testimonial, rating or word-of-mouth recommendation to the other restaurant patrons!
Your satisfied clients can do the same for you! They don’t often cry out in uncontrolled bliss when they buy a great meal, lawnmower, resume or business-plan. But they do talk about it!
A quality product and a job well-done go a long way in ensuring a steady stream of new and existing customers for your business!
Next time a happy client walks away from your business, perhaps others will say…
